¿Who is Mr. Drex?

Oh, so you are interested in knowing a little more about me? Well then, I'll tell you a little more about me, the real me.

Andres is the name my parents chose for me. I was born in Miami, FL but I grew up in MedellÍn, Colombia. Although it was never in my plans to be a tattoo artist I was always interested in this art form, but just as an addition to my body to be honest. I always admired artists and their capability of literally making pieces of art on people's skin! But never in my life did I imagine I’d want to be a tattoo artist. Truth is, I didn't think I had enough talent to create art.

Before dedicating myself to tattooing, I worked in various companies in Colombia for approximately 8 years in the field of advertising and marketing. Today you see me and I have a Bachelor's degree in business.

But, if I have a business degree, how did I end up tattooing? Well, it all started in 2017 when I decided to move to the United States. Two years later, one of my co-workers, at a restaurant where I worked as a waiter, saw some of the drawings I had posted on Instagram and asked me the following question: ‘Hey Parce (Dude in Colombia) why don't you start doing tattoos?, you have talent!’ .... This question 

went around my head for a few months until I finally made the decision to give it a try, and give myself the opportunity to learn something new at 30 years old!

It's been almost 5 years since I made that decision and today tattooing allows me to have the life I want to have. It was definitely one of the best decisions I've made in my life, and I can't see myself doing anything else for the rest of my life.
